Sure, skiing is a blast during the winter, but in the summer those same resorts turn into the best mountain biking areas around. Utah has some very dry months that allow the trails to compact and there hundreds of them to explore. For alpine mountain biking be sure and check out the Wasatch mountain range where you’ll find many twisting, turning, jumping trails that bring enthusiasts from all over the US.
Road cycling is also quite popular since there are plenty of bicycle lovers in the state of Utah. There are weekly races that are attended by hundreds to thousands of spectators from April through September. Just in the month of September, there are at least 5 nationally recognized races alone. Since so many people like to cycle in the state they have placed “Share The Road” signs to help educate drivers and remind them that there are others using the roads. Their legislature takes the safety of bicycle riders seriously.
